Barnet College

North London Arts (NLA) is North London’s art and design centre of excellence. A centre whose range of programmes and success were rated Outstanding – the highest rating achievable – in a recent Ofsted inspection report.

NLA brings all Barnet College’s work in art, design, media and performing arts under one umbrella. It reflects the vibrant nature of a department renowned for developing and enhancing creative skills in a practical, vocational atmosphere.

Its speciality is giving employees skills and qualifications that will maximise their efficiency in the workplace and open up opportunities for further study, Foundation Degree links and universities validation as well as BTEC qualifications. Specialist learning courses are offered in the fields of graphics, fashion, photography, design craft, media, multimedia and performing arts. The performing arts courses are housed in the artsdepot, North London’s premier arts venue.

NLA also offers a range of diagnostic courses tailored to meet specific needs. As well as meeting the training needs of local businesses the department’s excellent reputation for art and design attracts learners from across the country and around the world.
