

NLPAC provides classes for children in all areas of the performing arts. It is now the largest children’s performing arts centre in the country, giving nearly 1500 young people across 6 boroughs the chance to learn dance, drama, singing and musical instruments. The wide variety of dance classes includes ISTD Ballet and Tap, Street dance, Jazz, Break Dance, Contemporary, American Jazz Tap, Hip Hop and AQA GCSE Dance. A huge variety of musical instruments including Drums, Saxophone, Guitar, Piano, Voice, Clarinet, Flute and the Celtic Harp are taught in especially dedicated classrooms. Students are also offered the opportunity to enter for music exams under the boards of ABRSM, Trinity/Guildhall and Rockschool. Pupils can study a range of drama classes which include; TV Presentation, Script work, Improvisation, LAMDA acting exams and Edexcel GCSE Drama.
NLPAC offer performance opportunities for children at all levels and in every performing arts discipline. The Centre is very proud of its Dance Troupes who have performed everywhere from Sadler’s Wells Theatre to Buckingham Palace and there have been annual show cases at places such as the Old Vic, Alexandra Palace, BBC Hippodrome and The Bloomsbury. The drama department showcases three plays at local theatres every year for all age groups and older students annually perform a musical production.
The tutors at NLPAC have exceptional teaching skills and a great ability to communicate with young people, students also benefit from the teachers own professional experience in the performing arts industry.
Patrons of NLPAC include high profile celebrities such as Bob Hoskins, Sean Bean, Paul Nicholas, Victoria Wood, Richard Wilson and Arlene Phillips. Through their support, and that of staff, parents and pupils, NLPAC continues to be positive asset for the community of North London.
