There has been a carnival or village parade in Tottenham since early times, but its move to Alexandra Palace in the 70s proved unpopular and it closed. Since 2000, when it was revived at Bruce Castle Park, it has been an outstanding success, attracting 60,000 people in 2006. Its 10th anniversary in 2007 celebrates Freedom, 200 years of the abolition of the transport of slaves. The carnival procession starts at Eades Road, N15, at 11am, then Seven Sisters Road, Tottenham High Road, Bruce Grove, reaching the park at 1pm. There are 5 sound stages, Mannings Family Fun Fair and numerous attractions. Main stage acts start at 12noon and end with a Grand Finale at the Latin Zone stage by 7pm.
